Badges and Buttons – linking to other pages is the double-edged sword of the internet; on the one hand, being able to cross-reference and link to other content out there is the very thing that makes the web so strong and useful; on the other hand, the pervasiveness of “hey, here’s my list of the top 2,000 sites you have to visit before you die” can be highly annoying.
I’ve decided to relegate my fan worship (and causes promotion) to this one page (for the most part); I’ll try not to make this too junk yard-ish, but will focus on sites that
a) I believe in
b) I find very valuable
c) I find beautifully, intelligently designed
